StoryWell is built for kids aged 3-12, but managed by adults. Parents and guardians stay in control of account settings, profile updates, and deletion requests.
What we collect
- Child's first name — so we can personalise stories with your child's name.
- Child's age or date of birth — so we can match stories to the right reading level.
- Email address — for account access only; we use it to sign you in and reach you if needed.
- Stories generated — stored locally on your device so your child can re-read favourites.
What we do not collect
- Precise location
- Contacts
- Camera or microphone access (beyond on-device text-to-speech)
- Advertising identifiers
- Browsing behaviour for advertising
Where data lives
- Stories and profile data — stored locally on your device in encrypted storage. We explain this in plain terms: your child's stories and profile stay on the device, protected by encryption.
- Account data — backed by a secure cloud service so you can sign in and manage your account. We do not share this with advertisers.
- AI story generation — when we create a story, we send your child's name and story context to the AI service. This data is not logged or stored beyond the single request needed to generate the story.
- No third-party advertising — we do not share your data with third parties for advertising.
Account deletion
You can delete your account in one step: go to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app.
What happens: we wipe all local data on your device and send a deletion request to our backend. Your stories, profile, and account are removed completely. This is irreversible.
To request changes or deletion by email, contact us at support@storywell.io or through the contact page.
Apple Kids Category
