1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using StoryWell, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use StoryWell.
You must be 18 or older to create an account. StoryWell accounts are for parents or legal guardians only. If you are using StoryWell for a child, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian (or are authorised by one) and that you are at least 18 years of age.
2. Eligibility and parent consent
- StoryWell is for children aged 3-12 with active parent or guardian supervision.
- Accounts and profiles must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian.
- You are responsible for ensuring any child use of StoryWell is appropriate and supervised.
3. Service description
StoryWell provides AI-assisted, age-calibrated story content and related features through the website and app. Features may change over time, including updates, experiments, additions, removals, or temporary unavailability.
4. Account responsibilities
- Provide accurate information for account setup and child profile settings.
- Keep login credentials secure and do not share unauthorised access.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised account use.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse StoryWell. This includes not using the service to:
- Upload or submit unlawful, abusive, or harmful content.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or interfere with service operation or security.
- Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or republish content at scale.
- Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person.
- Bypass safeguards, moderation controls, or age-related restrictions.
6. AI-generated content and limitations
StoryWell uses artificial intelligence to generate story content. AI-generated content may be imperfect, unexpected, or inaccurate. While we apply safety guardrails to keep content age-appropriate, we cannot guarantee that every story will always meet your expectations. Parents and guardians agree to review content if concerned and to supervise younger children during story sessions.
- Story content is provided for family entertainment and reading experiences only — it is fictional.
- StoryWell content is not medical, educational, psychological, or legal advice.
- We do not warrant that AI output is factually accurate; stories are fictional.
- Parents and guardians remain responsible for reviewing suitability for their child.
7. Free and paid features
StoryWell may offer free and paid tiers, subscriptions, or in-app purchases (for example, the Adventure tier when launched). Some features may be free at one time and later move to paid access (or vice versa).
- Pricing, billing cycles, inclusions, trial conditions, and cancellation terms are shown at purchase or subscription flow and form part of these terms.
- Subscriptions typically renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the billing period.
- You may cancel at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
- Under the Australian Consumer Law, if the service is not supplied as described or is not fit for purpose, you may be entitled to a refund. Contact us at support@storywell.io to discuss.
8. Intellectual property
The StoryWell platform, branding, software, and service design are owned by StoryWell or its licensors and are protected by law. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable right to use StoryWell for personal, non-commercial use.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe there is misuse, risk to children, unlawful activity, or security risk. You may stop using StoryWell at any time. Account closure and data handling are addressed in our Privacy Policy.
10. Liability and consumer rights
Australian Consumer Law (ACL): Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights, guarantees, or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010). If the Service is not supplied with due care and skill, or is not fit for purpose as described, you may have rights to a remedy, refund, or compensation under the ACL.
To the extent permitted by law:
- StoryWell is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-available service.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss.
- Where liability cannot be excluded, our liability is limited to remedies permitted by law.
11. Changes to the service and terms
We may update StoryWell and these terms from time to time. Updated terms take effect when published, unless a later date is stated. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, specifically the laws of the State of New South Wales. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and any courts entitled to hear appeals from them.
